Beyhadh season one star Aneri Vajani is all set to make a comeback on television after three years!

Vajani Aneri made it big after bagging the lead role in Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, post which the actress was later roped in to play Saanjh in Jennifer Winget and Kushal Tandon starrer Beyhadh. Her role in the latter show was highly popular and the fans wouldn’t have had any other actress playing the role.

After a gap of three long years, Aneri Vajani is all set to come back on television with an Ekta Kapoor show. She will be paired opposite the Ishqbaaz hunk, Kunal Jaisingh and the shoot for the same is expected to begin next week. The show will be a family drama and we’re very keen to see this fresh pair swoon us with their chemistry.

There aren’t any details out regarding the show as of now, so all the fans can do is wait for more information to roll in.

Sandra Bullock, Violas Davis, Jon Bernthal among others to star in Netflix thriller written by Mission Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie

After the smash-hit Birdbox, Hollywood star Sandra Bullock is returning to the streaming giant with yet another interesting thriller. The thriller will star How To Get Away With Murder actress Violas Davis, Daredevil stars Jon Bernthal and Vincent D’Onofrio, Linda Emond, Emma Nelson, Aisling Franciosi and Rob Morgan.

Variety revealed, “Bullock’s character is released from prison after serving time for a violent crime and re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past. Facing severe judgment from her former friends and peers, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind.”

The thriller will be penned by Mission Impossible director Christopher McQuarrie, Nora Fingscheidt to direct the upcoming project. Graham King’s GK Films with Sandra Bullock’s Fortis Films and Veronica Ferres’ Construction Film will jointly produce the film.

Daniel Craig, Chris Evans starrer Knives Out sequel officially in the works at Lionsgate

One of the biggest hits of 2019 was Rian Johnson's whodunnit drama, Knives Out starring an ensemble led by Chris Evans, Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michael Shannon. But, it seems like the sequel is officially in works at Lionsgate.

During the promotions of the film, Rian Johnson was keen for a sequel with Daniel Craig's role as private investigator Benoit Blanc at the center. The sequel is officially is in works was confirmed by Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer but they are yet to reveal what Agatha Christie kinda murder mystery will take the story ahead.

The film has earned several accolades including three Golden Globes nominations, Best Original Screenplay nod at the BAFTAs, the Critics’ Choice Awards and the WGA Awards. They are also nominated for Best Original Screenplay at Oscars 2020.

Maggie Gyllenhaal to play Elvis Presley’s mother in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis biopic

The Elvis Presley biopic is shaping up! It is already known that Once Upon a Time In Hollywood actor Austin Butler will play the titular role in Elvis. Tom Hanks is set for the role of his longtime manager Colonel Tom Parker. Now, the makers have roped in Maggie Gyllenhaal to play Elvis' mother Gladys Presley in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming musical drama.

Variety revealed, "Throughout his career, Presley talked about his devotion to his mother, constantly calling her his number one girl. The close relationship is said to have continued when the musician’s career took off and during Gladys’ bout of depression due to his time away from home."

Baz Luhrmann and Craig Pearce have co-written the script. The production on Elvis begins in spring. It will be a story about a young singer and his veteran manager who came from nothing to become musical legends.

John Mulaney, Missy Elliot, Minnie Driver, James Corden among others join Camila Cabello in Cinderella movie

The highly awaited Kay Cannon's new telling with Cinderalla movie is getting bigger! Camilla Cabello will be joined by Pierce Brosnan, Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, Nicholas Galitzine, Maddie Baillio and Charlotte Spencer.

Now, Deadline reports that Minnie Driver, Missy Elliott, James Corden, John Mulaney, Romesh Ranganathan are the new entrants. The report stated, "Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Minnie Driver is set to play Queen Beatrice, with Grammy-Award winning musician Missy Elliott in talks to play the role of the Town Crier. Meanwhile, the mice/footmen will be played by award-winning comedians John Mulaney, Romesh Ranganathan, and James Corden."

Sony will release the film on February 5, 2021.

Kartik Aaryan’s statement about doing films on women with defects leaves Sara Ali Khan and the internet unamused

Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan are promoting their upcoming film, Love Aaj Kal in full swing these days. From news channels to radio channels to online portals, they have been going places to promote this Imtiaz Ali directorial. The actors were recently on a well-known radio channel where Kartik was asked about his work being compared with Ayushmann Khurrana and his statement has left all of us uncomfortable.

He started off by saying that it didn’t bother him, then went on to say that it often happens that Ayushmann does movies on men with defects while he does films on women with defects. While Kartik and the radio jockeys found this statement amusing, Sara was not pleased, she asked him about how her character Zoe was defected. To which the actor just sang the lyrics of their song, ‘Haan Main Galat’.

Ranveer Singh or Hrithik Roshan who will feature in the Kaithi remake?

Reliance Entertainment has announced a Hindi version of 2019’s Tamil blockbuster Kaithi. The story of a convict on the way to meet his daughter was touted as a one-man show for its hero Karthi.

The question now is, who will play Karthi’s role in the Hindi remake? Sources say, Karthi who would be the best option for the remake has been ruled out. “He doesn’t have a market in the Hindi belt. Like it or not, South Indian superstars are restricted in their viewership to their home base. Karthi would be the natural choice in Hindi. But he won’t bring in the audience. His elder brother Suriya made an attempt to get into Hindi cinema with Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakht Charitra. But he failed,” says a source close to the project

According to sources director Lokesh Kanagaraj who directed the original will be retained for the remake. As for the powerful leading man’s role, Hrithik Roshan and Ranveer Singh are the two principal choices for the lead in Hindi. “It would depend on the availability of dates, the price, etc. But yes, these two are the natural choices,” says a reliable source.

Zarina Wahab to play son Sooraj Pancholi’s mother in Hawa Singh biopic

Veteran actress Zarina Wahab who has played mother to everyone from Shah Rukh Khan in My Name Is Khan to Aparshakti Khurrana in Street Dancer 3D, will now play her own son Sooraj Pancholi’s mother in the boxing drama based on the life of gold-winning boxing champ Hawa Singh.

Says a source close to the film, “It is a very important role. The real Hawa Singh’s mother played a very important role in his life. The film will predominantly be designed as a mother-son story and Zarinaji is looking forward to working with her son. Perhaps she will need to tone down her powerhouse dramatics to match her son who is relatively raw.”

Real-life powerhouse actress-mothers usually avoid coming together with their children on screen to avoid comparison. Nonetheless, the legendary Nutan and Sharmila Tagore did share screen space with their respective sons, albeit only once. Nutan was seen with her son Mohnish Behl in Yeh Kaisa Farz and Sharmila Tagore was seen with her son Saif Ali Khan in his debut film Aashik Awara.

Katrina Kaif and Ali Abbas Zafar are all set to reunite for a superhero flick

Katrina Kaif and Ali Abbas Zafar have known and worked with each other for almost a decade now; they first worked together in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Needless to say, they have come a long way from where they started and Katrina even introduced him to Salman Khan. The trio has worked in two films already and it looks like Katrina Kaif is all set to work with him again. If the reports are to be believed then Katrina Kaif and Ali Abbas Zafar will be reuniting for a superhero action film that will eventually turn into a franchise.

Ali Abbas Zafar will be directing the film and is planning to co-produce it with Ronnie Screwvala. The script of this untitled project is still a work in progress; however, they plan to begin shooting sometime this year. The team is waiting for Ali to finish the script so that they can later on head out for a recce of locations and lock in on a date. Both Katrina Kaif and Ali Abbas Zafar have been quite excited about the project and they are planning to have a few never-seen-before action sequences in the film. Katrina’s fitness has made planning the stunts easier since she is currently the fittest actress in the showbiz.

Poonam Pandey files a criminal case against Raj Kundra and his associates; the latter denies association with the firm

Poonam Pandey has moved to Bombay High Court after the police refused to register an FIR against Raj Kundra and his associates. It all began when Poonam Pandey signed a contract with a firm called Armsprime Media, in 2019, to get an app after her name made. She was to receive a certain share of revenues generated from the same, however, as per Poonam, she discarded the contract a month later when she realised there were discrepancies in the revenue sharing. Soon after she withdrew the contract, she started receiving calls on her private number from all around making explicit requests.

She spoke to a leading tabloid regarding the issue and revealed that she took it up with the police but they refused to lodge a complaint against Raj Kundra and his associates so she moved on to the court. Poonam further revealed that she left the country for three months hoping that it will all go away, however to her disappointment, it continued when she returned. After changing her number, she then spoke to Saurabh Kushwah, Raj Kundra’s associate, from her new number and started receiving similar calls on the same.

Saurabh Kushwah has denied all the allegations and said that it was their firm that discarded the contract since the content that Poonam posted was obscene and explicit. When Raj Kundra was asked to comment, he said that he had sold his shares to the current shareholder back in December 2019. Poonam Pandey further said that just because she is Poonam Pandey, she cannot be subjected to this treatment.

Due to election, Delhi multiplexes are to remain shut till 6 p.m on Saturday

The Delhi Legislative Assembly election 2020 is set to take place tomorrow i.e. February 8, 2020 in a single phase, and about 70 members of the assembly will be elected. As per an announcement by the Home Ministry, the day has been announced as a paid holiday. This is to encourage voters to practice their voting right.

Due to election, all the multiplexes in the capital city will also remain shut till 6 p.m in the evening.

This week's Bollywood releases are Vidhu Vinod Chopra's directorial Shikara, and Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani and Anil Kapoor starrer Malang. Check this space to know how they fare on Saturday.
